1. Overview

Problem Statement:
Many Filipinos and Filipino culture enthusiasts struggle to find nearby community events or Filipino-owned businesses due to fragmented information sources and a lack of centralized platforms. This makes it difficult to stay connected, support local businesses, and participate in cultural activities.

Solution Summary:
An app where users can connect with their local Filipino community by finding Filipino events and businesses.

Target Users:
Anyone who wishes to connect with their local Filipino community.


2. Objectives / Goals

Connect Communities: Create a centralized platform where users can easily discover Filipino cultural events and businesses in their area.

Promote Engagement: Encourage community participation by making it simple to register for events and support local establishments.

Preserve Culture: Strengthen cultural ties by highlighting Filipino traditions, language, and community activities through a modern, accessible app.


3. Core Features (MVP)

  1. Feature 1: Allow users to search for local Filipino events and businesses
  2. Feature 2: Allow users to add events to their profile
  3. Feature 3: Allow users to play games on the app

4. User Stories

As a community member, I want to browse upcoming Filipino cultural events, so that I can stay connected with my heritage and attend local gatherings.

As a business owner, I want to promote my Filipino-owned business on the platform, so that I can reach more community members and grow my customer base.

As a new user, I want to easily create an account and personalize my interests, so that I receive event and business recommendations relevant to me.

As an event organizer, I want to list my events and manage RSVPs, so that I can increase visibility and attendance.

Map Integration – Provide an interactive map view that displays nearby Filipino businesses and events for easier navigation.

Social Sharing – Let users share events or businesses on social media platforms to boost community engagement.

Loyalty & Rewards Program – Offer points or discounts for users who frequently attend events or support local businesses.

Multi-language Support – Support both English and Tagalog (and potentially other Filipino languages) to make the app more accessible.
