Inspiration

We were inspired by the resiliency and perseverance of small businesses throughout the pandemic. Small businesses are the backbone of the economy and through our mission to restore them to their rightful place and reJUVEnate the economy, Juve was born. Also, during the pandemic, people spend less money on most purchases, so we have more money to spend money to support businesses that support our own philosophy such as environmentally friendly, women-owned, special needs hiring and etc.

What it does

Juve is essentially a small business e-commerce platform that allows users to buy, sell, and even swap goods! The platform also comes with special tags such as "Vegan", "Environmentally Friendly", "Black Owned", etc, so that users are able to search through specific filters. We are based on user-generated content, so the users can even add tags for specific items and create tags themselves.

How we built it

We built our prototype website using React JS, Google Cloud, and with the help of MUI Frameworks.

Challenges we ran into

The lack of time we could design and program, The design team didn't have time to change the theme, colour and etc. The lack of our experience we have towards the technologies that we've used. One of the design team members did not know how to use Figma and none of the development team had prior experience with the technologies, frameworks and programming languages we've used. It would be better if the Hackathon runs for 48 hours. So the development team has time to finish the actual prototype.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are really proud of the business idea that we have, None of us knew any programming language and technologies we used, but at the end of the submission, we are proud for our

What we learned

We learned how to use Figma, React, MUI, and Google Cloud.

What's next for Juve

We will conduct a survey to investigate users, study their needs and generate some tags ourselves first. Then we will ask users what are functions they wish to wish to add and change our prototype based on it.
