We were thinking about the types of inequalities present around the world and what an average person can do to help. We immediately thought of charities! However, in the past we have felt that it is difficult finding and becoming aware of charities that can help a cause. This became the source of inspiration for our app.
What it does
Users post about events or causes that require further support from the global community. You can then filter posts based off of specific tags that interest you and click the "take action" button to read about charities that support that cause. This makes it easy for the user to sift through charities and decide which one they want to volunteer their time or money towards.
How we built it
We built the frontend in React and used postgresql for the database. The backend was made using Express.js.

What's next for Justly.
We wish to add "donate" and "volunteer" buttons for the charity pages, which allow users to donate money or sign up for volunteering directly from the app.
We hope to be able to have an explore charities page where you can directly search charities instead of having to research them by clicking "take action" on a post.
