Inspiration
We are a group of high school girls who wish our fellow friends and future generations of girls won't have to step into a world where they are unfairly treated and discriminated against. All of us in this group have witnessed personally the challenges women, such as our moms, face in the workforce still.
What it does
It is an app that shows a score for different categories in regards to women gender inequality, provides resources for women to battle gender inequality at work.
How we built it
Our app idea and framework is developed using google slides, but in the future, we would like to implement the app using an app maker such as android studio, and create a database using AWS where we can run SQL queries to come up with the specific company's data.
Challenges we ran into
Since we are all still in high school and haven't taken any cs classes, we had trouble with the coding process of app making so we researched potential technologies that we would use in the future.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud to give our efforts in helping and supporting women through gender inequality in the workforce.
What we learned
We were surprised to learn that women were still being discriminated in different ways in the workforce despite our society being advertised as "gender equal." We also learned the process behind making apps and creating data bases.
What's next for Justice for Women in Work
Our next goal for Justice for Woman in Work is to use our knowledge that we obtained from our research to create our app and allow women to get the help and resources they need to battle gender inequality. Not only that, but we also need to increase the entries in our company database.
