Inspiration

Across the world, there are countless tragedies that are impacting citizens. Despite these devastating humanitarian issues, many people are not aware of them. As a result, we created Justice Find, a website where people can access information about current world issues that are not commonly shared on our local new stations.

What It Does

When you first go onto the website, you are met with a plethora of topics to research. Clicking on one of the topics takes you to a page with information about the specific topic and a quiz that tests your knowledge. Each topic also has a section with links to other websites where you can learn more.

How We Built It

This website was built using front-end development. We utilized HTML and CSS for the structural and design elements of the website. JavaScript was used to create the quizzes. We did the coding on repl.it, then transferred our work to Github. We then changed the url to http://justice-find.online.

Challenges We Ran Into

We had a difficult time getting the quizzes to display results. However, after double checking our code, the issue was soon resolved.

Accomplishments That We're Proud Of

We are proud of the fact that we successfully created a website where people can access information about topics that are not normally brought up on the news. The events shared on this website need to be heard and are effecting so many people. We are happy to provide our readers with the information to back their opinions on topics and to encourage them to let their voice be heard.

What We learned

We learned a lot about compromise and working together when creating this website. We also learned a lot from all of the webinars available at this weekend's competition. However, the thing we learned the most about was all of the events we put up on the website. As we researched and discovered more about these issues, we were enlightened and formed valuable opinions about these causes.

What's Next For Justice Find

Justice Find will continue to provide information to anyone who wants to learn more about the world. Some things that we would like to add to this website are a tab where you can sign petitions and a news feed with RSS. Also, we will continue to add more information about current topics and about other ones that are not currently on the website.
