Inspiration

-We chose communication as our theme -Our project fits in with the theme because we our communicating but at the same time we are being secure -When we looked more into these chatting applications, we realized that the company that made them can see our messages therefore attacking the privacy that we have -We love chatting with other people however lots of the times we get scared because we aren’t sure if it's secure -We wanted to make chatting safe and secure

What it does

We made a website using blockchain to make chatting safe and secure for everybody. It is decentralized so nobody can see it except the people who were chatting.

How we built it

We deployed a smart contract on the Polygon Blockchain, so no one can see what you are chatting. We created a frontend with React and synced with the Polygon Blockchain.

Challenges we ran into

-Deploying a smart contract took a very long time -Hop was having some trouble building our product -Rendering emojis properly was difficult

Accomplishments that we're proud of

-Creating a secure chat -Making it decentralized -Rendering emojis

What we learned

-We learned how the blockchain works -We learned how to render an emoji -We learned about a smart contract and how to use hop.io

What's next for Just U Me Chat

-Add a file sharing feature -Implement disappearing messages -Make secure group chats -Add voice chats
