Inspiration
I've been doing computer science for a long time and aquired a good amount of knowledge on the field but I decided to step out of my comfort zone. This is my first hackathon of this kind and instead of trying to make a project with a language and tool I'm comfortable with, I decided to learn Unity and C# and make a game all in a span of these few days.
What it does
This game is pretty much based off of the saying "just put the fries in the bag" a common brainrot saying but now it's turned to a game. All you have to do is tilt the board right using "d" and "a" keys and roll the ball(the fries) into the red boxes(the bag).
How we built it
I built this in Unity and programmed it in C#.
Challenges we ran into
In this project I found myself noticing that the things that I anticipated were going to be easy to develop actually turned out to give me the most bugs and errors. However, I was able to work through it and the game turned out exactly how I wanted it to look when I first made a rough sketch of the layout of it.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am proud of the fact that I participated in a Hackathon and I am also proud that I took on this challenge, and the challenge of trying something new such as using Unity.
What we learned
In general I learned how to make 3d games now and I learned how to be courageous and try something new and not always stick to what I know. I learned that it is okay to not know what to do but still try.
What's next for just put the fries in the bag
I want to make more games that are fun but also equally as purposeful. I want to begin brainstorming educational game ideas that will help students have fun playing games but also help them learn skills like, reading, writing, maths, science, etc.
