Inspiration

In an era where our attention is constantly hijacked by endless feeds, we are ironically trying to solve digital distraction with more digital apps. I realized that downloading another Pomodoro timer wasn't the answer—because the moment you unlock your phone, you've already lost the battle. We need a physical anchor to ground our minds. That is how Just Fary was born: fighting software distraction with a physical hardware ritual.

What it does

Just Fary is a $69 Tech-Luxury NFC Focus Bracelet that acts as a physical key to the "Focus Realm." Users tap their phone against the NFC bead to bypass distracting apps and instantly launch a deeply immersive web app. When a user commits to a gamified focus session and succeeds, our AI engine takes over. It evaluates their session and generates a completely unique, 2D line-art "Focus Totem Gem" as a digital proof of their victory against distraction.

How we built it

I designed a seamless loop combining physical hardware, modern web architecture, and Generative AI:

  • Frontend: Built with Next.js and deployed on Vercel, featuring a strict, minimalist "Tech-Luxury" aesthetic (pitch-black backgrounds, champagne-gold typography).
  • Auth & Backend: Integrated Supabase for a frictionless login experience, utilizing Google One-Click and secure Email Magic Links (Passwordless).
  • Automated CRM: I built a fully automated backend using Make.com and Google Gemini Flash Lite Latest to act as an AI Co-founder, reading and replying to customer emails automatically in our premium brand voice.

Challenges we ran into

Building a full hardware-to-software-to-AI pipeline as a solo founder in a single weekend was intense. The hardest part was "AI Aesthetic Control"—preventing the image generation model from outputting generic, colorful 3D images. I had to heavily engineer the system prompts to force a strict "esoteric, flat 2D champagne-gold line art" style. Additionally, handling Supabase OAuth redirects while maintaining a seamless user experience required complex state management to avoid forcing logged-in users through the onboarding splash screen again.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am incredibly proud to have built a fully functional, end-to-end commercial product as a solo founder in one weekend. From soldering the NFC hardware prototype to polishing the Next.js UI, integrating real database authentication, and setting up an AI-driven automated CRM—the system is genuinely production-ready. The final UI achieved the exact "Tech-Luxury" vibe I aimed for, making focus feel like a premium, exclusive ritual.

What we learned

A product is only as good as its market fit. Yesterday, I took the hardware prototype to the Boston Public Garden for a live street test. While I initially built this for tech geeks and solo founders, the strongest purchasing intent actually came from families. Parents immediately saw the bracelet as the perfect "mindfulness and educational gift" for their children who struggle with study distractions. This street-level discovery radically expanded our Total Addressable Market (TAM).

What's next for Just Fary - AI Focus Bracelet

Our immediate next step is fulfilling the limited 50-piece "Genesis Edition" handcrafted in Boston. On the software side, we plan to expand the gamification loop, allowing users to collect their AI-forged Totem Gems in a virtual vault and unlock real-world VIP perks (or physical merchandise) based on their accumulated hours of deep work.
