Why Students Want It. Creating a social media network for CUNY. The increasing Social Media use in the college age group has becoming more popular and leading to massive need for connections. And what does the CUNY family doesn’t have, Connections. We are living under a system where basically our parents and cousins don’t even know our names and info, we are looking to fixing this issue to get students more involved, organized and connected with other CUNY students and services. With the multiple complicated website system in hand in the CUNY schools, kits discourage students to even getting involved, signing up for tutoring/services and sadly, meeting new people and gaining Connections. Each Student can make profiles of their majors and interest S and gain connections to other students with same major, with info and professors. Students don’t want to simply do classes and leave, the want to meet and experience new things, create study groups, share events from all CUNY’s not just one and not be discouraged by this complicated and separated program. Meet New People, CUNY all together, Make CUNY better and stronger.

How to get students to use it One of the main problems in getting people to experience new products including apps is to get people notice it and acknowledge it, usually they just pass the idea. This app will be shared throughout the peer ambassador’s, community and student council’s programs and posters throughout the college with over exaggeration statements. Make it sound too good to be true. We will also take steps to make this app very usable by professors to make group chats for discussion and assistance in the app, the students won’t be needing to make their own groups for study groups using other social media apps and be separated by the CUNY system. With even one professor using this program based on the class needs, this will spread throughout the college and entire CUNY system. Once program takes amazing affects in the connections establishment, this app will be then highly recommended to incoming freshman’s during their orientations.

Our Challenges We faced troubling issues since only three of our members showed up with only 1 having proper coding knowledge. We did however had an amazing idea and truly were passionate for this type of program to exists. We know we can market it extremely well and make 10 times better than what it is currently. We are looking forward to the future and what it holds and hope for better connections with everyone, the ability to make things go more smoothly for services and finally meet new people that i will probably never meet in my life time. CUNY inst just college a system, its a strong family.

We did face some issues like the simple aspect of it and it only works for android.

Accomplishments we are proud of This is the first time me and my new friends made an app, the first time were i had to present in the first day of this idea and our first time working together to make something will become great.
