Inspiration
The legal system is complex, time-consuming, and difficult for non-experts to understand. Accessing judicial information often requires legal knowledge that most users do not have. JURIS was inspired by the need to simplify legal understanding and make judicial insights more accessible, structured, and user-friendly through technology.
What it does
JURIS (Judicial Understanding & Risk Intelligence System) is an AI-driven platform that analyzes judicial and legal data to provide clear, structured insights. It helps users understand case details, assess potential risks, and interpret legal information without navigating lengthy legal documents or complex portals.
How we built it
The system was built using a modern web-based architecture. The frontend focuses on clarity, usability, and structured presentation of information. The backend follows an API-driven design, handling requests, data processing, and AI integration. An ASGI-based server ensures high performance and scalability, while the AI layer processes and simplifies legal content into understandable outputs.
Challenges we ran into
Major challenges included handling the complexity of legal language, maintaining accuracy while simplifying content, optimizing system performance, and designing an interface that balances detail with usability.
Accomplishments that we’re proud of
We successfully developed an end-to-end working system that transforms complex judicial data into meaningful insights. The platform is scalable, efficient, and capable of delivering reliable responses in real time.
What we learned
We learned the importance of responsible AI usage in legal contexts, strong backend architecture, and user-centric design. Clear explanations are as critical as technical accuracy.
What’s next for JURIS
Future plans include expanding legal coverage, improving risk analysis, adding explainability features, and integrating with real-world legal systems.
