Inspiration

The inspiration behind Junk Fury stems from a deep concern for the health of our planet's oceans and a desire to raise awareness about the critical issue of sea pollution. Witnessing the devastating effects of marine debris on marine life and ecosystems served as a powerful motivator to create a meaningful and impactful gaming experience. The goal was to leverage the immersive nature of gaming to engage players in a compelling narrative that highlights the importance of environmental conservation and empowers them to take action.

What it does

Junk Fury is an immersive 2D game experience designed to raise awareness about the urgent global issue of sea pollution, particularly focusing on the detrimental effects of marine debris on our oceans. Players take on the role of a dedicated garbage collector tasked with safeguarding the marine ecosystem by cleaning up debris from beaches and preventing further pollution of the sea. With stunning visuals and engaging gameplay, Junk Fury offers an interactive platform to inspire environmental consciousness and promote positive action towards protecting our precious seas.

How we built it

Junk Fury was built using Flutter and Flame, leveraging the powerful capabilities of these frameworks to create a captivating gaming experience. The development process began with thorough research into the issue of sea pollution and the various factors contributing to marine debris. Drawing upon this knowledge, the game mechanics and storyline were conceptualized, aiming to entertain players while also educating them about the importance of ocean conservation.

Using Flutter for UI design and Flame for game development, the game's framework was built, focusing on visually appealing graphics, smooth animations, and intuitive controls. Sprite animations and physics engines were integrated to bring the underwater environment to life, immersing players in a captivating gaming experience.

Throughout development, careful iteration and testing were performed to refine gameplay mechanics, balance difficulty, and ensure a seamless user experience. Feedback from testing sessions played a crucial role in identifying and addressing bugs or performance issues, resulting in a polished final product.
