Juniors for Seniors

Inspiration

My dad walked in my room the other day and asked me what "67" was. I did not know how to respond. This made me realize that it's hard for the older generation to converse with the younger generation.

What it does

It helps immerse older people into the slang and conversational aspects of the younger generations. You can click on the NPCs to chat with them (click again to exit), and if the user is confused about anything, they can seek out the "Helpful Teen"

How we built it

In Godot with ChatGPT API. All art was manually done in CSP.

Challenges we ran into

Realizing both of us did not know how to use GitHub, and ending up using 1 computer.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The GPT actually responding with some personality.

How to implement AI into Godot, how to have user input.

What's next for Juniors for Seniors

This was a fun thing to try out! I think the project has potential to expand and clean: more areas, a "pocket dictionary", etc.
