What it does:
After knowing the keyword for this junction is “Resurrection”, we decided to build a relevant game. We decided to keep our game simple so we build it from cubes. However, we still try to give it the best look as we could with our animations. Our game is about defending an important cargo, which contain a lot of treasures, from the enemy. The game take place in. You are provided with some heroes. At first, they are just normal heroes. As they die, they will resurrect and become more powerful. Some heroes have the special ability. Your task is to control your heroes to protect your cargo to the goal successfully. The main purpose of our game is to provide the player with a simple, attractive game which will give the player a calm and relaxing experience.
What I've learned:
Before Junction our group came up with a lot of different idea on how to build the game, but now we realize that we did not focus on how to make a game: game play, mechanic, graphic, stages of development, and etc. Developing a big project for the first time stroke us, the unprepared, as lightning, and we were really overwhelmed by the amount of work needed. Just knowing such a huge obstacle exist in making a game is already eye-opening for us. But for now we can say that next year when we come back, we will definitely be better hackers.
What's next for JunctionJam:
Junction is such a great experience for us all. It gave us a clearer view on the current industry and what should we focus on in our study to become a better programmers. And we will come back next year better and stronger.
