Jumping Point

Inspiration

College students always wait until the last minute to do their homework/projects, rushing to read through long pages of text trying to reach that minimum required word count and trying to submit on time.With this program, reading through documents is easier than ever.

What it does

THis program takes long and strenuous readings and breaks them down into short paragraphs ad bullets of key points of the text to make it easier, faster and more efficient to understand

How I built it

It was built in Java with the Watson SDK

Challenges I ran into

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

My team and I properly mastered the Watson SDK in Java, Python, and NODE-red. We have created a simple interface that allows users to analyze their txt and pdf files.

What I learned

I learned alot about scanning PDF files and how to work with Watson from IBM.

What's next for Jumping Point

I hope to expand on it further as a propper web crawling pre-reader. Our original goal was to turn pages of data into a paragraph of highlights and I feel we can still do that now more than before without the time restraints.
