Inspiration
I have never built a game for the platform before so I wanted to aim for a game that I could finish quickly as I only had a small amount of time. The collectable and camera tutorials inspired me to make a 2d endless jumper type game.
What it does
It's an endless jumping game which I though would go nicely on mobile and would be a good game to challenge your friends against.
How we built it
Built using the Worlds Desktop Editor and tried to leverage AI in every step of the process.
Challenges we ran into
The Worlds Desktop Editor had an issue that locked up preview mode when moving around the character. This would happen even in an empty scene. This slowed down development but was luckily fixed a week after I started the project. Also the AI tools seem still in their infancy and the code and act tool could overwrite code leading to having to load backups of the project.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
To finish a game so quickly and the AI tools although not perfect really did help me to develop more quickly.
What we learned
Projects take time and good planning is needed to stop scope creep. I will be making another game in the near future.
What's next for Jumpiddy Jump
I want to add music, particle effects, more enemies and collectables and also maybe some shop items to boost a player jump or protect them.
