Inspiration
As a beginner aspiring Android game developer from Nigeria, I wanted to create my very first mobile game without writing any code. I chose an endless runner because it's simple, fun, and perfect for short mobile play sessions.
What it does
Jump Dash is a mobile endless tap runner where: - The character runs automatically - You hold your finger on the screen to jump (longer hold = higher jump) - You avoid random obstacles - Score increases the longer you survive - It features a Top 5 Leaderboard that saves your best scores
How we built it
I built the entire game using MeDo AI with natural language prompts only.
I started with a basic prompt describing the game. The first version had a big problem — the character wasn't moving at all.
I used multi-turn conversations to fix it step by step:
- Made the character run automatically with scrolling ground
- Added hold-to-jump mechanics with physics
- Added random obstacles and collision detection
- Created Game Over screen with score
- Finally added a Top 5 Leaderboard based on feedback from the Discord community
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge was the initial version where the character didn't move and the game loop didn't start. It took several prompt improvements to make the Phaser scene update properly and add responsive mobile touch controls.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Successfully turned a simple idea into a fully playable game with leaderboard - Fixed major bugs through prompt iteration - Added a working Top 5 Leaderboard with local storage - Completed my very first game in a short time using only AI
What we learned
I learned the importance of clear and iterative prompting with AI tools. Small changes in the prompt can make a huge difference in the final result. I also learned how to test mobile games properly on real devices.
What's next for Jump Dash – Endless Tap Runner
I plan to improve the jump physics, add more obstacle types, sound effects, and possibly turn it into a native Android APK in the future.
