Inspiration
We saw a raccoon run in front of us this morning, and it's as if God gave us the inspiration on a silver platter; striking us with enlightenment to the solution of life. We thought, how can we show God's inspiration to everyone else? As such, we combined a weather app and a productivity and inspirational difficult game.
What it does
It shows the weather once you climb to a high enough height to see the weather that you want.
How we built it
We used Unity and C# to build it.
Challenges we ran into
We had some trouble getting the Unity group set up, as most of us had never used Unity, and only one of us knew C# (Ryan). As such, we all had to learn how to use it.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud that we managed to make the background change, and that the API works enough to show the data about the place we're in.
What we learned
We learnt that planning video games is really hard, and that each asset can hold a script. Additionally, we learnt how to make a controller entity in a game to control how everything in the game runs.
What's next for Jump Cast
We plan on further developing the game so that it runs smoother and has better controls. Additionally, more levels and cities, and eventually one that randomly generates nearby cities by using a randomized version of BFS to make near-infinite generating levels.
Currently
Move with WASD, Jump with Spacebar, Dash with Shift
