Inspiration
We were in the communication and connectivity track for HackMIT, and thought that there was a shortage of cooperative games which encourage teamwork.
What it does
2 Player local multiplayer 2d platforming game. Encourages teamwork because some platforms are impossible to reach alone.
How I built it
We used the Unity game-engine and C# to write the Code. I(Nicholas) used GIMP to make the sprites.
Challenges I ran into
Although not included in this version of the game, earlier attempts used a LAN multiplayer system, and this was the first time we set-up a server for a multiplayer game, which was difficult. LAN is not used in this version of the game because upon further review of submission rules, we decided that the library we used could count as copied code.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
First time making a game with short time constraints.
What I learned
I learned more about how servers for multiplayer games run.
What's next for Jump Bros
If we decide to continue working on this game, we will likely return the LAN multiplayer, and possibly add online multiplayer.
