We use PDF viewers on a daily basis for work, or studying a book or two. jumboPDF is a minimalistic yet capable PDF viewer and tool to elevate your experience when working with PDF documents.

Inspiration

I do R&D, and use pdf documents on a daily basis.

What it does

jumboPDF provides a distraction free and capable pdf tool to increase efficiency when working with pdf documents.

How we built it

Codex was instrumental in drafting the initial program structure, to implementing ideas and feature requests. The application was iteratively refined and polished.

Challenges we ran into

  • Codex return times were long (standard speed) - and sometimes, some things/edit-tasks on the code were not picked up correctly on the first or second or sometimes third try.
  • Generating an executable for Windows 11 that passes "Smart App Control".

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Lightweight, fast and capable pdf tool that is now my daily driver for the future.

What we learned

Codex is quite powerful!

What's next for jumboPDF

  • Implementation of larger features and capabilities/tools for e.g. graph based data extraction.
  • Free open-source distribution to the public.
