July Affect

Inspiration

Medical malpractice is the third leading cause of death in the US. We want to help decrease these rates and increase access to safe, reliable health care by addressing the July Effect.

What it does

Creates a patient care environment through our app that simulates real world, clinical experience for new medical trainees.

How we built it

Used React Native to build an app/notification system. Jupyter Notebook, Python, Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn to handle data analysis.

Challenges we ran into

Waking up. Achieving ioS and Android capabilities.

What we learned

Android development is difficult to achieve in 12-24 hr.

What's next for July Affect

Build out the backend data capabilities and feedback loop. Might include ML to analyze individuals' performance, identify limitations/deficiencies, and provide recommendations for improvement.
