Bridging the gap between LLMs and your average human around the world that doesn't necessarily have access to smart devices other than a regular phone. We use a Dial-a-tone format to demo this.

Inspiration

What it does

Call a phone number and have a conversation with an AI. The AI can take song requests and play them for you.

How we built it

We forked open-source vocode to allow the ability to play mp3 over the phone. We also used ChatGPTAgent and gave it the ability to take action by calling the youtube API to search for songs and download them.

Challenges we ran into

Editing vocode code to pass songs was pretty challenging and required changing a lot of pieces. Understanding the codebase was also not trivial. Finally, Vocode documentation was not great and figuring out how to give actions to users was challenging.
