Inspiration
We were inspired by the NFTA website that incorporated a good amount of accessibility features; we decided we could expand that in terms of UI/UX in totality, not just the languages.
What it does
We have designed an smartphone app that is targeted towards people who have limited digital literacy and language capabilities for the purposes of easily getting around in Buffalo via public transportation.
How we built it
We designed the app using the Figma, specifically using FigJam.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into some roadblocks trying to come up with the big number of the finances (a rough estimation), and we tried to bite off more than we could chew by expanding ever more features. Towards the end, we narrowed our focus to our overall benefit.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Coming together and taking in total our diverse ideas into one cohesive product idea. We also used a brand new tool we never used before: Figma.
What we learned
Going back to before, we used Figma tool and learned how to build a relatively basic mobile application, and how to build for a diverse amount of people who have different levels of literacy, both digital and written.
What's next for Journey's Ride
We hope to work on this with Journey's End after this event, if they agree to do so.
