Inspiration

We came from a background of understanding the underfunded schools and low income communities. We empathize with this because we grew up without much. All of us started wanting more education and couldn't have that as students in grade school. Therefore we want to create a platform that has unlimited resources and somewhere students can talk to about higher education.

What it does

It provides a discounted premium education to all types of students. It is a platform for a 1 on 1 tutoring service. We have certified educators providing us with materials to flood our market.

How we built it

Canva, Prezi, Lucidchart, Zoom, Clipchamp, Google Docs, Web Development software, Coolers and a lot of research on competitors.

Challenges I ran into

time, and too much future ideas. We argued a lot about the logistics of what to include. We were all very passionate about trying to provide quality education for students today.

Accomplishments

Ukamaka: Exercised her knowledge in business and economics.

Lena: We had a small idea and with the help of everybody we created a masterpiece!

James: I worked on developing the business plan and finances specifically how we were going to have the freemium revenue model. Described competition and how we surpassed them. Discussed our market and target groups as well. Worked on the presentation on Prezi and the layout and material within it.

Joanna: I'm proud of us, that WE FINISHED! Even though it doesn't fit everything we thought we wanted to include. We finished and submitted. I am also very proud of the teamwork and bonding we have accomplished. I felt stronger as a leader and team player.

What's next for Journey, Learn, and Join!

We want to keep working on this idea and perfect it. There have been discussions on lowering the price to the service. We have a whole list of future plans in store for the platforms. We thought it would be nice to keep a list of everything we brainstormed about during our discussions, this way we include everybody's ideas in some sort of way. This allows us to have a future of upgrading the platform as well as expanding it to further our initiative.
