Inspiration

When I saw the email come in, I immediately opened it and got to work because I've been spending the past 3.5 years exploring various areas of tech.

This was built using Atlassian's tutorial on building a hello world app!

Challenges I ran into

I'm mostly used to administering applications or simply programming within IDEs, so I'm not familiar at all with how real app development works. I'm also not very personally experienced with doing things in a command prompt, but I'm definitely glad to have done a little bit more hands on to see what it looks like. With this introduction, I'm hoping I'll be able to follow through to better support my organization as an Atlassian suite admin.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm proud of the fact that I saw this opportunity and jumped at it. Of course, this was simply a hello world project, but we all start somewhere. Now I know how to do

print("Hello world!")

and

System.out.println("Hello world!");

as well as

What we learned

How much deeper app development can really get. The more I learn, the more I realize I don't know anything.

What's next for Journey Beginnings!

Hopefully a shot at the next level of this! I'm still learning Java and Groovy to use other marketplace applications with Jira.
