trigger warning: self-harm
Inspiration
I have had struggles with mental illness and seen others struggle Unfortunately, self-harm was one of the major struggles, it was incredibly difficult to live with But doodling on myself instead of hurting myself is something that helped me significantly, and doodling led to journaling, and I wish to share that experience with anyone that may need it
What it does
it is intended to be a small digital journal to write in thoughts and keep track of to-do lists or small victories from day to day, with a little random doodle that you may refresh or keep for that day
How we built it
due to the lack of experience in building apps, this is more of a prototype that is web-based, built with html5, CSS, and javaScript
Challenges we ran into
- did not have enough time to come up with more doodles, tried with random generation but didn't connect to js well
- originally attempted app building and had to move to web based, so almost ran out of time
- some UI/UX features are too difficult to implement for my skill level as of right now
Accomplishments that we're proud of
the animation for the notes are nice to look at
What we learned
how to use CSS
What's next for journal;
maybe build into a real app and further polishing
