Journal Away With Me

Inspiration

We were inspired by the increasing mental health concerns around the world.

The app allows you to create an account and log in journal entries.

We used Python with Flask for the web server, and React for the front end. We also used CockroachDB Cloud to store the data (journal entries).

Logging on and connecting CockroachDB was a big challenge, especially from a Windows environment.

A good next approach would be to include more systems that would be good for people with mental health concerns, such as music and support groups.

Refining parts of the code for reusability, consistency, and stability would be a must-do to make development easier in the long run.

I worked on some of the front-end and helped with coming up with some ideas for the functionality. First time using react and it was a great experience!
