Inspiration
The inspiration behind Jotion stemmed from the desire to simplify productivity and organization without the complexity often associated with similar platforms. We aimed to create a lightweight yet powerful tool that anyone could use effortlessly.
What it does
Jotion provides users with a streamlined platform for personal organization and project management. Users can create, edit, and organize notes, tasks, and documents in real-time, enhancing productivity and workflow efficiency.
How we built it
Jotion was built using Next.js for the frontend, Convex for the real-time database, and Tailwind CSS and shadcn for styling. We focused on simplicity and ease of use, ensuring that even those new to productivity tools could navigate and utilize Jotion effectively.
Challenges we ran into
One challenge we encountered was striking the right balance between functionality and simplicity. We had to ensure that Jotion remained intuitive and user-friendly while still offering robust features.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud to have created a polished, responsive platform that addresses the core needs of organization and productivity without overwhelming users with unnecessary complexity.
What we learned
Through building Jotion, we gained valuable insights into user experience design, real-time database integration, and frontend development best practices. We also honed our skills in project management and collaboration.
What's next for jotion
In the future, we aim to expand Jotion's feature set while maintaining its simplicity and ease of use. This may include adding collaborative functionalities, integrations with other tools, and further customization options to meet the diverse needs of our users.
