Note taking done right.

Everybody takes notes about everything — math, computer science, arts, the world. There are an abundance of applications to help streamline the note taking process, but there is no single app with all the features you could need. This project arose from the seemingly mutually exclusive sets of software that allow you to draw freely and software that can process mathematical expressions or code. jot aims to be not only a minimalist platform that allows users to choose how they want to take notes, but also provide features from powerful utilities including LaTeX and Desmos to assist in the process.

This was the first hackathon for all of our team members and as such was a memorable, educational experience. More than half of our team members had almost no experience in web development, so we learned on the fly about the various resources available to us, how to use them, good programming practices, and how to think and solve problems like a programmer.

Our project is still a work in progress — there are tons of features yet to be implemented and lots of code to clean or debug — but today we will be presenting the foundation of our idea and the fruits of our labor.
