Inspiration
The inspiration behind this project may stem from the complexity and competitiveness of the admissions process in Indian institutes, particularly the challenge faced by students in predicting their chances of getting a seat in their desired course and institution.
What it does
The JoSAA Seat Predictor is a tool designed to help students predict their chances of getting a seat in various colleges and courses based on their performance in entrance exams, such as JEE Main and JEE Advanced, as well as other relevant factors like category, state quota, and previous year's cutoffs.
How we built it
The tool was built using data analysis techniques, machine learning algorithms, and web development technologies. It involves collecting and preprocessing data from various sources including official JoSAA records, previous years' cutoffs, and student performance data. Machine learning models are trained on this data to predict the likelihood of admission based on input parameters provided by the user. Finally, a user-friendly web interface is developed to make the tool accessible to students.
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges in developing the JoSAA Seat Predictor may include collecting accurate and comprehensive data, dealing with the complexity of admission rules and regulations, optimizing machine learning models for accurate predictions, and designing an intuitive user interface.

What's next for Josaa Seat Predictor

Extend the tool's scope to cover other admission processes beyond JoSAA, both within India and internationally.
