Inspiration
I've been using AI to help plan my trips, but I hadn't found anything that was an all-in-one solution. A lot of the pieces exist individually, but this is the first time I've seen them all all pulled together. My vision is an all-in-one, completely self-contained travel planning experience. using all of the best parts of AI.
What it does
Jori is built to be a travel assistant, planner, and friend who can help you figure out what you should do at a location, when to do it, where to do it, and what to do if things change. it uses is is real, grounded, map-based data, research information about local restaurants events live pricing and all of the information that you could possibly know and shows you only the parts you care about. It allows you to build a trip through having a conversation and change that trip on the fly when your needs change or unexpected events happen.
How we built it
This app was built entirely with ChatGPT 5.6 Sol. Multiple concurrent instances of ChatGPT 5.6 Sol worked together to build all of of the required version parts of this app.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge I ran into was speed. this is an incredibly complex application and there's a reason that it hasn't been built before There's a lot of work that goes into making an app like this. My solution was to maximize the concurrency of our workflows so that we could deliver an app this complex on target for a tight build week delivery. fast mode was invaluable in finishing and polishing the final steps and and overnight unattended runs were very helpful. I handed Codex a detailed plan, set a goal, and left it to work. Then on the supervised runs, it was helpful to have multiple agents and multiple workflows working simultaneously to accomplish goals that were compartmentalized so that we could speed up this very hard to execute idea. I also simplified the flow and this is the thinnest slice that demonstrates the idea instead of a full production ready flow.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I'm proud of the fact that we got this working end to end in the time allotted for the build week. This was a very ambitious project and something that a lot of people would likely not believe could be done in a week. But we did it in a week with Codex and GPT 5.6 Sol
What we learned
I learned a lot about building a production-ready demo in a week. Previously, I had tried to build smaller, more self-contained things. this has a lot of dependencies and a lot of things that can go wrong and working with agents to rapidly iterate on and bug fix. all of those things was a very important learning and take away skill.
What's next for Jori Travel
Jori has commercial potential, which I'm interested in exploring. and I'm interested in continuing to develop the Jori Travel app and potentially exploring a commercial launch or integration of the technology that I've been able to develop already.
