Inspiration

We were inspired by the vast number of opportunities that CEGEPs offer their students and how few students are aware of them. At Marianopolis College and Dawson College, club information is often shared only on Instagram pages or pinned to walls. This led us to create a website where students can easily access all the opportunities provided by their institutions.

What It Does

JoinSphere is a website where students from CEGEPs across Quebec can discover clubs and networking opportunities tailored to their interests. By selecting their school and searching for preferred clubs, students can explore relevant events and opportunities based on their fields of interest.

How We Built It

We used React for the frontend development and Python for the backend of our website.

Challenges We Ran Into

We encountered difficulties in establishing seamless communication between the frontend and backend of our website.

Accomplishments That We’re Proud Of

We are particularly proud of the designs and visual appearance of our website, which provide a user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing experience.

What We Learned

We learned how to use React, a modern and popular frontend framework, as well as gained valuable experience in integrating frontend and backend systems.

What's Next for JoinSphere

Our next steps include:

Fixing the tag search functionality. Improving user identification for a more personalized experience. Enhancing productivity by creating a stronger connection between the frontend and backend systems.
