I needed a teammate, but was too afraid to walk around and ask if anyone needed an extra member. And since the question was never brought up, I spent the entire hackathon working alone even though I wanted to be a part of a team. So i decided to create an easy platform for finding teammates that shows much more than a few skill sets, but also their school and other information.

What it does

JoinOurHack is just a simple platform for categorizing contestant information, that way everyone can communicate and view each other without having to have the fear of talking to a stranger. The platform allows users to give the nexessary stats on who they are, along with the ability to upload a resume and picture, so that you're more than just a few skills.

How I built it

I used firebase to act as a database and storage solution for the website, it stores all of the user information into categories that divide into individual hackathons. The files for resumes and pictures also are stores in categories, allowing for easier debugging should something go wrong. The website uses the javascript API format to then read the data and create a dynamic webpage out of the information, updating automatically whenever any information is changed.

Challenges I ran into

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I was able to build a very good portion of this project while working alone, even with the very narrow time constraint.

What I learned

What's next for JoinOurHack

Up next is to finalize the look of the platform, and to create it for more than just hackathons, as any networking event would be a great candidate for such a platform.
