2. Our hack aims to help solve the food products wastage as an individual
3. The hack help by setting reminders for expiration date via QR Code on the food products label and also retrieve a list of recipes based on the food that are about to expire so that that the food product does not simply get thrown away. It also let user choose from a list of suggested platforms that he/she can donate their food such as FoodBank etc.
4. The project was built on Android Mobile App.
5. It has been awhile since we did Android development therefore, there are some hiccups as the codes were different than before. There were also conflicts faced during the merger of codes since we shared some common files. We overcame the difficulties by debugging together but the time used was too much and as a result we did not quite meet the expectations that we set for ourselves.
6. Overall, it was a painful but fun as this is our first hackathon. The short and intense experience was a new takeaway for us since we were used to developing on a longer time duration. Nevertheless, to improve on our skills, this is definitely not the last hackathon we are going to attend.
