Inspiration

Our University provides many interesting events and facilities that people can miss in their social media feeds and inboxes

What it does

JoGoo is a platform where you can find out all the recreational activities that you are interested in and happening around in one place. All U of SC societies can create their events and depending on the interests you have picked you can find it on your feed. Moreover you can create simple events as finding a partner to play squash this afternoon.

How we built it

We built parts of the web page using HTML5, PHP, CSS3 and parts of the Android App using C# and Xamarin. We also made a mock-up of the App on Balsamiq.

Challenges we ran into

Since none of us has much of experience in the field the whole thing was a challenge. We focused more on the idea and how it should look and we started building the App and website afterwards.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

By working on this project and participating on the event we managed to do what we were aiming. That's it taking advantage of all the interesting stuff happening around, meeting new people and working on interesting ideas.

What we learned

We all improved our programming skills and we now have the valuable experience of a hackathon.

What's next for JoGoo

We hope that our idea is going to be materialized and it's going to help the students and faculty of the university to come together and participate on all the available events that the are interested in.
