Inspiration

The idea for the project came from observing a close friend of mine struggle with managing their job hunt. She was looking at multiple roles, and it meant she had to craft custom resumes, cover letters. Additionally, she was looking for jobs across multiple platforms. Discovering was a problem, and keeping track of which ones were already applied for and which ones were new was even more painful. That is when this idea took shape.

What it does

Jobspilot enables users to create multiple job hunt journeys. Each journey includes resume optimisation, cover letter creation, and job discovery & application. Jobspilot helps throughout this process, leveraging the power of AI. Some key features are - 1) Resume analysis and optimisation 2) Cover letter & Cover email generation with custom refinements 3) Jobs discovery based on role & location across popular platforms 4) Track applied jobs right from the dashboard.

How we built it

This app was built 100% using Bolt. For resume analysis and related, I used the Gemini API with custom prompts. For the jobs feed, I have used J-Search API. For authentication & database, I have configured Supabase.

Challenges we ran into

Oh, many! As someone who has limited technological understanding, debugging the errors and prompting appropriately to bolt was a huge challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud of the fact that I made this happen in <10 hours. As someone who doesn't know coding, building this app was quite empowering.

What's next for Jobspilot

I would like to keep this free for the next few months while I build out other key features. Then, I would like to officially launch it and offer it as an affordable SaaS product.
