Inspiration

We were tired of juggling job and internship applications across sticky notes, docs, and memory. We needed one place—clean, visual, and efficient—to track it all. So we built it.

What it does

JobSnitch helps you track job and internship applications, monitor progress, set checkpoints, and stay organized throughout your job hunt.

How we built it

We built JobSnitch using the MERN stack. One teammate focused on backend development—handling authentication, data models, and APIs. The other led frontend design, crafting a vibrant, user-friendly interface with React. Together, we collaborated on UI logic, timeline tracking, and seamless integration to ensure a smooth and responsive job tracking experience.

Challenges we ran into

Time constraints were intense, so we had to prioritize core features and cut extras. Debugging authentication and syncing frontend-backend communication took longer than expected. Designing a clean yet fun UI under pressure was tricky. We also had to constantly realign our ideas to keep the project simple but impactful.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud of building a strong foundation under time pressure. Even though we couldn’t make it fully functional, we brought the concept to life with a working UI, backend setup, and core features in place. We pushed our limits, learned a lot, and created something we’re genuinely excited about.

What we learned

We learned how to collaborate effectively under tight deadlines, divide tasks based on strengths, and balance ambition with feasibility. Technically, we deepened our understanding of the MERN stack, especially integrating backend with frontend. We also learned the importance of clean UI/UX and presenting simple ideas in impactful, user-friendly ways.

What's next for JobSnitch

Creating a fully functional backend for job tracking. Building visible timelines for each entry to make it more engaging. Notifications before the deadlines and other schedules. Integrating JobSnitch with other job apps to ensure smoother experience.
