Inspiration

Job searching is overwhelming, and people track applications with spreadsheets, sticky notes, or memory, often losing deadlines, missing follow-ups, or forgetting details. I wanted to create a single, intuitive, and beautifully designed platform that centralizes every part of the job search. JobPilot was inspired by the need to make job hunting more organized, less stressful, and more actionable.

What it does

JobPilot is a full job-application tracker that organizes every step of the job search. Users can log applications, deadlines, interviews, and statuses across a clean dashboard and a color-coded calendar.

Core features include: • Smart search and filtering • Calendar with interview/deadline events • Document manager with versioning • Compensation + equity breakdowns • Side-by-side offer comparison • Analytics dashboard with charts • Automatic reminders and notifications • Referral tracking + auto thank-you/follow-up email templates • Custom motivational banners

All company names and job postings included are demonstration examples and do not represent real openings.

How we built it

The project started by mapping out the core workflows that job seekers need the most, then building a clean interface around those flows. Through constant iteration, testing, and refining, the platform gradually became a cohesive tool that feels natural to use.

Challenges we ran into

Implementing the interactive calendar required complex date/event handling and smooth month navigation. Firebase OAuth setup was tricky, especially configuring production domains.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

A complete, well-structured tool within a short timeframe was built. JobPilot genuinely helps reduce stress during a challenging period in people’s lives.

What we learned

I learned how to plan and execute a multi-feature product, break tasks into manageable steps, and prioritize effectively. I gained a deeper understanding of interface design, information organization, and how to iterate toward a smoother user experience.

What's next for JobPilot

I plan to make JobPilot even more helpful and intelligent. One major goal is improving how job information is captured, making it possible to extract key details directly from a job post link or job description. In the future, we aim for the system to automatically gather relevant job postings and status updates from major job platforms, reducing the manual work for users.

I also want to introduce more AI-driven support, such as personalized resume suggestions based on job descriptions and a mock-interview assistant to help users prepare with confidence.

Lastly, we hope to build a mobile app so users can manage their job search anytime, anywhere, with the same smooth experience.
