Inspiration

This project was inspired by a real problem I had when I was job searching online. I felt current job platforms were too generic and outdated. They focus heavily on resume keywords, but forgets that behind the job application, is a real person just trying to understand who they are and where they belong.

What it does

Jobify is a UI/UX-driven mobile app that helps job seekers find their ideal roles through personalized onboarding, AI-powered resume assistance, and an MBTI-based personality assessment that categorizes users into 16 personality types. Its goal is to support users throughout their job search in a personal, understanding, and intuitive way.

How we built it

I conducted user interviews & competitive analysis to understand what current job seekers find successful and challenging when job searching online. Then I sketched wireframes of what the potential mobile interface would look like. After, it was time to assemble it by creating the model through Figma.

Challenges we ran into

There were 3 main challenges: The first challenge was defining the core value of the app. It was challenging to narrow down what Jobify should focus on—whether it should act as a job-matching tool, a career-coaching platform, or a broader resource hub for career development. The second challenge was balancing features with simplicity. There were many great ideas to include, but fitting everything into a clean, intuitive user experience without overwhelming users was difficult. The last challenge was creating an approachable, supportive tone. Since Jobify is meant to feel like a safe, reliable resource, ensuring the visual design and writing style communicated support and encouragement required careful iteration.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud that I was able to craft an onboarding flow that helps users feel supported from the start and clearly communicates Jobify’s value. I was also able to organized resources, tools, and navigation in a way that minimizes confusion and guides users toward the support they need. From user feedbacks, many people said this would be something they would love to see in real life.

What we learned

Designing this project taught me that career design is deeply emotional- it’s about more than matching skills to roles; it’s about helping people understand who they are and where they truly belong. Integrating MBTI personality wasn’t just a design choice-it became a way to bring empathy and self-awareness into a space that often feels mechanical. From a UX perspective, I learned that personalization doesn’t have to be complex- it just needs to be genuine. Small details like friendly tone, reflective prompts, and transparent feedback can change how users emotionally experience a process.

What's next for Jobify

Although I am happy with the outcome, I would also love to integrate a feature that allows users to search for career coaches who can help them pursue their ideal career paths. In the future, I would love to see Jobify become a real app where struggling college graduates and individuals looking to switch careers can find reliable support.
