JobHat takes your resume and using its magical algorithm gives you a set of currently open jobs that perfectly match your skillset. Say goodbye to endless scrolling and fruitless applications – with JobHat, finding your dream job becomes effortless. Happy applying!
How we built it
We used Python for the web scraping and backend, and HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the website.
Challenges we ran into
It was hard to get the required data from each job posting as different companies use different formats for their websites and there was no common HTML tag for us to use.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Despite the challenges with data extraction, we successfully developed an efficient algorithm to parse through diverse job postings and extract relevant information for matching with user resumes. Additionally, we created a user-friendly interface that simplifies the job search process.
What we learned
Along with the developing process we learned several techniques of web-scraping, algorithm formation, data processing and frontend development. Moreover we realized how to deal with the complexity seen in different website structures and formats.
What's next for JobHat
We want to add features which will help you refine your job search. We want to add unique features such as one that allows you to find job recommendations based on location, salary range, whether you need sponsorship to work in the US or not and many more.
