Inspiration

Job hunting is broken for young professionals. Most applicants spend hours trying to write resumes and cover letters that often go unnoticed. On top of that, recruiters don’t always read text—they scan, skip, or skim. We were inspired to create JobGenie after seeing how generative AI could simplify personal branding, and how interactive media (like video resumes and voiceovers) could capture attention instantly.

We wanted to create a one-stop platform that makes everyone look like a star candidate—without needing design or writing skills. And we wanted to showcase the full power of Bolt.new by building everything—from UI to AI workflows—inside it.

What it does

Started with the Bolt.new platform to create UI layouts, logic, and all app workflows.

Used Supabase for authentication and storage of resumes.

Integrated OpenAI (via Bolt) to generate professional resumes and cover letters.

Added Tavus AI Video Agent to record real-time AI video intros from user text.

Used ElevenLabs to create voice resumes in natural, humanlike tones.

Leveraged RevenueCat SDK to monetize premium resume templates and editing.

Stored verified resume hashes on Algorand Blockchain to prove authenticity.

Deployed the full-stack app on Netlify with a custom domain via IONOS + Entri.

Included the “Built with Bolt” badge on all app screens.

How we built it

Challenges we ran into

Bolt was new to us—so getting used to state, functions, and bindings took time.

Tavus and ElevenLabs were powerful but needed custom API flows to work with Bolt.

Making a resume builder look professional and functional on mobile + web.

Building, testing, and launching a multi-tool, multi-layer product within 3 weeks!

💸 Implemented a working paywall system with RevenueCat to monetize premium features

🌍 Launched a live custom domain via Entri + IONOS and fully deployed on Netlify

🎨 Achieved a clean, mobile-friendly UX/UI design that feels professional and modern
