Inspiration

When on the job hunt, the last way we should be spending our time is scrolling through lists of jobs that are clearly irrelevant after a quick glance. If I can describe what I'm looking for to people, why can't I seem to describe this to a job search tool?

What it does

We monitor daily job posts so you don't have to. Describe in words the nuances of what you're looking for and go beyond simplistic key word searches, and we will review job posts as they come out and send only the most relevant to your inbox.

How we built it

Tiered filter system starting with traditional filters (like location) and ending with an agent review for each potential job.

Challenges we ran into

Job database.. there are paid APIs for access to job descriptions or we could build our own scraper. To save time and stay focused in the hackathon, we started with a simulated dataset of LinkedIn Postings (https://www.kaggle.com/datasets/arshkon/linkedin-job-postings)

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Scoping of the challenge to focus the AI aspect without getting lost in scraping or UI traps

What's next for JobFilter

Build out the realtime jobs tracking engine and add on email notification -> build into a subscription service
