Inspiration

Our inspiration was the millions of Rwanda who have skills but are unemployed. We are aspiring software engineers looking for internships, but landing an internship is an abnormally hard task given that we have skills and many companies are looking for people with our skill set.

What it does

This is a platform where we connect organizations with job seekers through a skill-matching algorithm. A user has skills on their profile (which are endorsed), and job posters add skills to their job posts. And through skills matching, we offer our users the best-fit jobs compared to their skills.

How we built it

This project stores data in a [MongoDB] database, and utilises [monk] to query the database easily. The API server runs on [Express], and is compiled from TypeScript to JavaScript using [esbuild].

It is a [Next.js] project bootstrapped with [create-next-app]

Challenges we ran into

We were two coders(A backend and a frontend engineer) ; The rest of our team was more on the non-technical which made it a challenge for us to finish

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We have an impressive UI and an awesome idea as well.

What we learned

Team work makes the dream work. Collaboration was key for us to do everything we did. And it would not have been possible to achieve anything without the help of each other.
