About the Project: JobCoach AI

🚀 Inspiration

We were inspired by the frustrating reality that talented individuals often miss out on opportunities—not due to lack of skill, but because traditional hiring methods like resumes and interviews are outdated and biased. We envisioned a smarter, fairer system that helps candidates truly showcase their abilities and grow in confidence.

Through this project, we gained deep insight into:

Behavioral psychology behind interview anxiety.
How AI can simulate emotionally intelligent conversations.
The importance of verifiable, decentralized credentials in building trust in skills.

🔧 How We Built It

Frontend: Built with React and Tailwind CSS for a clean, responsive UI.
AI Interview Engine: Powered by GPT-based models fine-tuned to simulate real interviewers, offering contextual feedback.
Credential Layer: Used Algorand blockchain to issue on-chain, tamper-proof credentials based on performance.
Backend: Node.js + Supabase to handle user data, session logs, and credential issuance.

🧱 Challenges We Faced

Emotion modeling: Creating an AI agent that feels emotionally aware was challenging and required fine-tuning dialogue and tone.
Blockchain integration: Balancing security, scalability, and simplicity while issuing on-chain credentials via Algorand.
User trust: Designing a flow where users feel safe sharing personal data and practicing interviews without judgment.
