Inspiration
We are seniors in college, looking for jobs in an unstable job market. As a result, we want to use every tool at our disposal to create an unforgettable resume that could land us an interview and job.
What it does
Our project uses AI to parse and analyze our resume and the job description or posting. It would then give key words, skills, or projects to highlight in our resume and personalize for the exact job.
How we built it
We started with the backend and set up an API key to parse and analyze the input. We then connected it to our frontend, where our dashboard would display a pleasant UI, while allowing the user to upload their resume, and copy/paste a job description.
Challenges we ran into
We were pressed on time throughout the hackathon. We only had 5 hours to code, and struggled to connect our frontend to our backend.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Despite being a two person team, we were able to completely finish both the front end and backend to have a presentable product.
What we learned
I learned a lot about tailwind CSS and the way the inputs are passed through the API.
What's next for Job-Match
We hope to continue working on Job-Match to have an even better in-depth analysis of the resume and give recommendations of important skills to learn for the role, and suggest different projects to add to your resume in the future.
