Inspiration

As we ourselves are on the verge of entering the software industry, we ourselves have been facing the problem of keeping into account the number of professional emails that we receive everyday along with spam and other commercial emails. This was the main reason why we could relate more to the problem.

What it does

We have used 'PieSocket' REST API in order to integrate a chat tool that will serve as the main source of communication between the candidates who are applying for the job and the recruiting managers/interviewers. We are using 'AUTH0' for the initial verification of the applicants on our dashboard named 'JOB HIVE'. On this platform, after getting authorized, the applicants need to apply for the job for which they are interested in, through the options which will be available on the platform posted by the hiring managers stating vacancies. The resume parser will actually sort the applicants initially and then the companies need to send the One Time Key that will be generated on our platform to the selected candidates. The selected candidates will be required to join the company's channel and all the official communication will take place there after this process. It will eliminate the trouble of going through all the spam and commercials E-mails in order to search for the right one, since the whole official conversation will be on the Web Application Job Hive only regarding the further recruitment process.

How we built it

We have used MERN stack for the complete creation of the Web Application. Additional functionalities include 'AUTH0' authentication for login verification and 'PieSocket' for scalability as well as chat interface.

Challenges we ran into

We we told by our respected mentors that the idea that we were trying initially (a simple web dashboard like AngelList) does not have anything unique or out of the box in it. So, just 12 hours before the final deadline, we decided to integrate PieSocket in our App. Since it does not have much video resources available on the internet, it was quite difficult for us to build a complete chat interface with PieSocket in such less time. But, that sleepless night was really worth it when we were able to build everything related to that from scratch.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Learning so many things together made out team bonding stronger. We learn about a whole new concept (PieSocket) just from the documentation. Learnt about a lot of new things like Resume Parser, NLP, etc.
