Inspiration: anex.us is trash so we intended to create a better version
What it does: it take the most recent information from the tamu registrar and convert it into a more user friendly interface where the students can view score distributions of their classes.
How we built it: We used javaScript and react js for the frontend and for the backend we used python. for integration we used flask and json.
Challenges we ran into:
We ran into multiple problems which include:
- Data Scrapping
- converting 2 d array in dict and converting into json output
- processing time
Accomplishments that we're proud of:
- completing the project
What we learned:
- Web Scraping
- Json
- UI
- Flask
- Git hub
- never ask sophia how many tabs she has open
What's next for JKSS Grade Distribution:
- integrating rate my professor into the UI
- visual representation via graphs
- Large scale implementation (includes data for all grades and major)
