“the forgotten soul” “Jiwa yang terlupa” is the story of a soul caught between worlds, a journey told from the perspective of someone who died before they were ready, desperately fighting their way back to deliver one final message to the person they left behind

On their journey toward the afterlife, they attempt to return to the living. But along the way, they witness what the world has become: chaos, conflict, war, and broken lives. Even so, they continue to push forward, driven by a single purpose, to find the ones they left behind and deliver their final message.

Only then can they let go, and leave in peace.

“the forgotten soul” “Jiwa yang terlupa” I began this project with the music production. I first wrote and finalized the lyrics, then experimented with the beat, instruments, recorded my vocals, and mixed everything in the DAW while also developing the visual concept.

The recording, mixing, and mastering alone took two months under a tight deadline. Originally, this was meant to be a relaxed personal project that would usually take around three to four months. But once I learned about the Chroma Awards, I decided to dedicate all my time to it. Whenever I struggled to finalize the music, I even rebuilt the entire instrumental several times until I found the right emotional tone for the vocals and the overall arrangement. I re-recorded many takes, and the most difficult part was realizing I had very little time left to create the AI video. Generating the video with Freepik was really helpful thanks to its powerful features although I didn’t get the chance to explore all of them due to the tight schedule. But in the very last minute, I managed to submit it.

I truly feel that I could have made both the music and the video even better if I had prepared much earlier, but overall I’m very happy and excited with the final result.

After this, I plan to refine the music and release it on music platforms. I will also continue experimenting and further improving my AI video creation skills
