Inspiration

There are sports that have a complex structure, numerous techniques and not obvious moves. To such sports group, belongs different dancing styles and martial arts. For beginners in these sports, it is often difficult to understand the fundamentals of the sport because it requires determination and high motivation, regular practice and good memory. Failure causes beginners to become frustrated and lose morale and, as a result, to quit.

What it does

Jitso is a course learning platform that allows sport club students to learn new lessons more effectively and repeat the ones they've already learned.

Jitso make it possible for student to easily revise learned trainings and find classes, where the interesting for them techniques were taught.

How we built it

Our architecture consists of mobile application, website, API and the database. We have chosen Vue.js for website frontend, Nuxt.js for the API and server side rendering of the web pages. We made a mobile app prototype on flutter. As database, we use PostgreSQL.

The following tech stack was chosen because our developers had experience with it and, what is also important to mention, it was easy to build prototypes with it.

Challenges we ran into

We wanted to support our idea with a market research, which included talking to the real students, trainers and club managers. It took unexpectedly long to prepare questionnaires and create a social media for communication.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

In a short term, we developed a fascinating and promising start up idea. Covered key features with the designed layouts in Figma and proved our team work and technical stack while developing of the web and mobile prototypes.

What we learned

We have learned a valuable lessons about task planning, development and team work under pressure of the near deadline.

What's next for Jitso

We would continue developing our project in the same team. Next steps would be refactoring of the code base and running the questionnaires among sport clubs students, trainers and managers.

Updates

posted an update

We have started development of the mobile app (Flutter) and the website (Vue.js + Nuxt) so far. We already have a design for our key features and primary use cases in Figma. At the moment, we are preparing research on our target audience, which includes collecting information from reports and conducting interviews with real people.
