Jira-descriptor

This Jira integration uses chatGPT to allow for the creation of a technical and detailed jira description and criteria of acceptance based on a very basic description, and auto-updates by comments.

Inspiration

We found that it was a struggle for developers to write Jira descriptions and criteria of acceptance, so we wanted to make it easier by combining AI with Jira's Forge API.

What it does

It generates a detailed description for the users based on existing description and updates with any added comments.

How we built it

We used Forge API for Jira integration, and ChatGPT API.

Challenges we ran into

It was hard to figure out how to integrate the two apis together, and to give chatgpt a general prompt that will work for all sorts of Jiras.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that even though we only had very little time to participate, we were still able to achieve something that actually brings value to any team.

What we learned

Developers are lazy and don't want to write Jira tickets, and developers are lazy so they'd rather code a solution that write Jira descriptions.

What's next for Jira-descriptor

We would love to deploy the app to the Jira marketplace after the Hackathon is over.
