Inspiration
I was inspired by emblem creators in Call of Duty and GTA. If you have played those games, you would probably had that "WTF" am I looking at?" moment when seeing someone else's emblem or the urge to recreate it by searching for a tutorial on Youtube.
So, I asked myself what if every masterpiece became a shareable challenge? That's how Jigzle was born - merging creative expression with puzzle-solving in Reddit's social ecosystem.
What it does
Jigzle creates a dual experience: players design emblems using geometric shapes and then share them as Reddit posts. The community can solve these emblems as jigsaw puzzles across multiple difficulties and game modes. Every creation becomes user-generated content that can spreads virally through Reddit's upvote system.
How we built it
Built with PixiJS v8, Reddit Devvit and TypeScript.
Challenges we ran into
Creating intuitive touch controls for scaling, rotation, and drag-to-storage without conflicts. Making emblems seamlessly become Reddit posts while maintaining game state and metadata.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Created an emblem-puzzle hybrid game that doesn't exist anywhere else. Built a UGC system where creations naturally spread through Reddit's socials, successfully merging creative expression with competitive puzzle-solving.
What we learned
Reddit as a Gaming Platform: Discovered Reddit's untapped potential for social gaming experiences. UGC Design: Learned how to balance creative freedom with puzzle solvability.
What's next for Jigzle
Campaign Mode: Guided progression with tutorials ** Upgrade system:** Tied to progression, earn and upgrade your skills. Achievements System: Badges for creators and solvers with milestone rewards Holiday Events: Seasonal themes and community competitions Advanced Game Modes: New puzzle mechanics beyond standard jigsaw solving
